Oy! I had another whirlwind weekend. I took a red-eye there and a red-eye back and ouch! Those are things a 20 something does, but now that I’m fully in my thirties, I’ve got to consider recovery time!

Wow! There’s so much about these cupcakes that I love. My awesome aunts gave me the cutest gift bag for my birthday. It was stuffed with new silicone cupcake liners, cupcake caddy, sprinkles, sprinkles and a pastry bag. Gosh, I can’t remember if there was anything else. I was just so excited. So, to me, this little guy is a combination of sweet thoughts about my aunts and the fun of getting to use all my new toys.

I can’t remember which artsy fartsy magazine I grabbed this idea. I think it was a Better Homes & Gardens. The eyeballs are made of meringue and M&Ms, candy apple flavored candy corns from Target and cherry Twizzlers.

 Dear Monday,

You and I didn’t get off on the right foot this morning. I was still still cozy in bed this morning, drowsy from the Benedryl and not ready to face the day. But you won. I got myself out of bed, put on a little mascara and walked in the office by 7:25AM.

I left my desk once today. My eyes hurt from staring at the computer screen, but some days are like that. I’d just prefer it if you didn’t decide to keep me at the office 11 hours today.

Then someone called me ‘moody.’ What’s that all about? You and I both know why, couldn’t you just let it go unsaid? Some days Monday, I think you’re a hooker.

You gave me every reason to be sour, but I’m not. ‘Cause I think I got the better of you. I was productive, positive and purposeful with my whole day. In my book that’s pretty good. Plus, I just unwrapped a new toothbrush and it’s the same colors as Miss Electra Cruiser and that makes me happy.

It’s too pretty outside to be sitting inside, so I’m going to make this quick! (I know why bother posting anyway?)

Here’s my dollar hollar from Stampworks. Nikki, the shop owner is so amazingly creative and I still can’t get over that for $1 each Saturday, you can walk in and make a homemade card.

My food porn moment of the weekend happened at The Farm at South Mountain. They served up what I think is a contender for the best creme brule on Earth! Butternut Squash Creme Brule. My mouth waters just thinking about it again.

I am so lucky to work with, for and around people I like. I mean, really like. Everyone is so thoughtful and they really made me feel special this past week. I received awesome prezzies

(which I feel a tad guilty about). Did you see the bracelet Dara got me? Love it! And there was so much more the bag of vintage candy, the Slip N Slide, the pomegranate candle, the paddle ball game and all the cards. I was literally floating around the office.

I guess I’m feeling overwhelmed because while it’s fun to get little gifts, I felt really blessed that these people who have busy lives and lots better ways to spend their time, took a minute to do something nice for me.

Thankful. I think this is the emotion I’m feeling the most right now. I’m so thankful for the people in my life and for the way they influence and impact me each day.

Plus, how could I not have a smile when this guy was waiting for me this morning?

Winding down my trip home and I think eleven of my last ten meals have been barbecue. BBQ doesn’t photograph too nicely, but this brisket plate from Salt Lick was awesome.

And I don’t have any regrets. I mean it.
